Boston Rock Opera presents theatrical stagings of rock operas, album and artist tributes, and works by Boston-based musicians. In 2016, B.R.O. presented Stardust to Blackstar: The Lives of David Bowie, and HAIR after a long period of inactivity.

Previously best known for its cult productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, and its theatrical premiere of The Kinks' Ray Davies' Preservation, Boston Rock Opera has celebrated a diverse range of narrative music, and worked with hundreds of New England based performers and musicians since 1993. Whether through a full blown theatrical production, or a nightclub event, B.R.O.'s mission is to explore the challenge of great storytelling through the power and risk of rock and roll.

Believing that the arts are enhanced by true diversity, BRO strives to recruit performers of all races, ethnicities, ages and identities.
